It’s been an honour to serve you as Mayor for the past three years.

During my Mayoralty, we have been a unified Council throughout local government’s toughest challenges, delivering New Zealand’s lowest average rates rise of 2.2% this year. We have also invested more in infrastructure (pipes, roads, footpaths) and paid off additional debt.

Next term we will keep rate increases low, cut red tape and fast-track building consents. We will grow Whanganui’s economy by launching a local School of Design & Technology, explore options to reduce power costs, attract new industry and support community projects. We will continue to pursue an Air Chathams Christchurch route and transitioning their headquarters to Whanganui. And this is just a snapshot of what I have planned.

Supported by my wife Carolyn, our family and community, I am proud to stand again to serve as your Mayor. I will continue to lead with energy, maturity and passion.
